Yep, me fatties, fatbooo’s no longer a fledgling! /
He’s now what Singaporeans would call a lau jiao (Hokkien – 老鸟 “old bird” – an experienced person, an old hand at something). Lau jiao people tend to act like veterans, they know how things work and they can look very ‘pro’ and intimidating. /
However, they also risk becoming stubborn, dated, and set in their ways. So from here on, I should remember to continue fatbooo’s journey with both playfulness and mindfulness.
Pigeon in Boat Quay, Singapore
There’s good and bad with becoming an 老鸟 “old bird” at blogging. The good side comes from the wonderful circle of readers, supportive friends and fellow bloggers that I’ve come to know over time. They make up the backbone of the blog, they help propel my stories. As for the bad side, I’ve also started looking a bit scraggly because of lost feathers from old age and squabbles over food.
Anyway, all that metaphorical nonsense aside, I do hope you’ll continue following fatbooo’s journey.
Together, we get fat… okay?
