I had brunch here last year and didn’t think much of it. Decided to give it another go on Melbourne Cup Day. This place appealed to me because it carries the charm of a classic Italian café. Also, you can brunch outside. It’s nice having a cuppa while you watch the bustle of the market across the street. However, I am sad to say that the coffee isn’t good here. My flat white was feeble in strength and flavour. The foam was coarse and the latte art banal.


I ordered the smoked salmon scrambled eggs. I liked it. The egg was moist yet fluffy and the salmon wasn’t overcooked. I didn’t feel overburdened with butter, there was nice spinach underneath and a sprinkling of chives on top. A sensible mix of ingredients. I was reasonably satisfied.

I think this place provides you with classic brunch food cooked with traditional skill. The atmosphere is pleasant and if the coffees get better, I may possibly come back.
